Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has now been challenged by the government to come out clearly and set out the exact dates for the confirmation of Junior Secondary Schools (JSS) intern teachers into permanent and pensionable terms.
Speaking in Aldai Constituency in Nandi during a Form Four motivation talk and prayers,
According to the National Assembly Budget and Appropriation Committee Chairperson and Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro while speaking during a form prayers and motivation talk in Aldai Constituency on Nandi, the government has already allocated funds for the same.
Ndindi announced that a total of Ksh.18.7 billion is now available for the employment of 46,000 JSS teachers.
As per to the committee chairman , it is high time for TSC to provide clarity on the confirmation dates and stop the evident behavior of shifting target dates.
Nyoro asked TSC to announce the official communication on when they will confirm the JSS intern teachers into permanent and pensionable terms .
He said that this is important since it will help the teachers to actually know and budget on the date.
Nyoro also highlighted on the issue of funding for higher education as leaders asked the government to review the model that they say is disadvantageous to needy students.
